Baumanis Timber Contracting provides comprehensive forestry first aid and medical support services for wildfire suppression, timber harvesting, and industrial operations across British Columbia, Alberta, and Canada. Our certified medical personnel and purpose-built facilities ensure that every crew working in remote conditions has immediate access to professional emergency care.
Mobile Medical Treatment Centres
Our Mobile Medical Treatment Centres (MTCs) are fully equipped field clinics deployed to fire camps, logging operations, and remote work sites. Each MTC is stocked with the supplies, medications, and equipment required to assess, stabilize, and treat injuries on site — from musculoskeletal trauma and lacerations to heat-related illness and respiratory exposure. MTCs operate under WorkSafeBC regulations and are staffed by qualified attendants around the clock during active operations.
Emergency Transport Vehicles
When patients require transport from the field to definitive care, our Emergency Transport Vehicles (ETVs) provide safe, equipped transfer over forest service roads and rough terrain. ETVs carry stretchers, oxygen delivery systems, spinal immobilization equipment, and monitoring tools. Our drivers are trained in emergency vehicle operation and patient care during transport, coordinating with BC Emergency Health Services and air ambulance when advanced care is needed.
Certified Medical Personnel
Every Baumanis medical deployment is staffed by personnel holding industry-recognized certifications:
- Advanced First Aid — WorkSafeBC certified attendants at the highest provincial standard for industrial first aid in British Columbia and across Canada. Required on forestry and wildfire operations meeting WorkSafeBC threshold worker counts.
- Wilderness First Responder (WFR) — WFR-certified personnel trained for prolonged patient care in remote, austere environments where evacuation may be delayed. Extended assessment, improvised treatment, and backcountry decision-making skills.
- Advanced First Aid & EMR — Emergency Medical Responder and advanced first aid certifications providing expanded scope of practice including airway management, pharmacological interventions, and cardiac monitoring.
Emergency & Disaster Response
Baumanis medical teams deploy beyond wildfire. When British Columbia faces floods, landslides, windstorms, or other natural disasters, our first aid personnel and equipment mobilize to support emergency operations. Patient stabilization, triage, and evacuation coordination are core competencies our teams bring to any incident — whether fire, flood, or storm. We work alongside emergency management agencies, First Nations communities, and industrial clients to provide medical coverage wherever the hazard exists.
WorkSafeBC Compliance
All Baumanis first aid services meet or exceed WorkSafeBC requirements for forestry and industrial operations. Our SAFE certification through the BC Forest Safety Council ensures that medical coverage, equipment standards, and attendant qualifications align with provincial regulations. Documentation, incident reporting, and quality assurance are maintained to the standards expected by provincial agencies and prime contractors.
