Type II Fire Crew Member
Contract-assigned wildfire suppression crews deployed to active incidents. Duties include hose lay, mop-up, containment, and hand line construction on established fire lines under crew leader direction.
Required
- S-100 Basic Fire Suppression and Safety
- S-185 Entrapment Avoidance and Safety
- WHMIS certification
- Valid first aid certification

- ICS-100 and ICS-200
- S-230 Crew Boss (Single Resource)
- Previous fire seasons with a contract crew
Type III Fire Crew Member
Short-notice contingency deployment for patrol, demobilization support, and supplementary suppression during peak fire season and escalating incidents.

- WHMIS certification
- Valid first aid certification

- Previous fireline experience
First Aid Attendant
Operate mobile medical treatment centres and provide emergency transport on active wildfire and forestry operations. Serve as the primary medical resource for ground crews in remote field environments.

- Transportation Endorsement
Structure Protection Crew Member
Deploy Structure Protection Units (SPUs), set up sprinkler systems, and conduct structure triage in the wildland-urban interface during active wildfire incidents.

- SPP-WFF1 or S-215 Fire Operations in the Wildland-Urban Interface
- Valid first aid certification
Preferred
- SPP-115 Structure Protection certification
- Previous structure protection experience
Danger Tree Faller / Assessor
Identify and remove hazardous trees on active wildfire and forestry operations. Work independently or as part of a falling team along fire lines, roads, staging areas, and cutblock boundaries.
Required
- CAGC Level 3 or BCWS Faller certification
- Wildlife Danger Tree Assessor (DTA) Certificate
Preferred
- Multiple DTA endorsements
- Qualified Falling Trainer (QFT) candidacy
Danger Tree Specialist
Conduct post-fire assessment, storm damage evaluation, and blowdown hazard mitigation. Assess and manage danger trees across a range of operational contexts beyond active fire lines.

- DTA certification (Wildland Fire Safety endorsement minimum)

- Forest Harvesting & Silviculture endorsement
